New Year’s Eve Dresses

≡ Category: Fashion |

I’ve been invited to a New Year’s Eve party this year that won’t exactly go with the glitz I like to wear at the holidays, but it doesn’t mean I can’t look for my favorite pretties.

And since the dress has once again returned to fashion retailers, it has returned in great and generous variety. Oh, how I have missed the dress. Oh dress, never never leave us again - if you do, I might have to use my sewing machine. And we wouldn’t want that. That would just be ugly.

Here are three I’ve picked out mainly for what would be a flattering cut on my own body. I know it can’t apply to most people, but since I have one of those body shapes that the little search engines refuse to believe exist (my breasts are smaller than my hips, apparently a physical impossibility, but I assure you, I can look down without parting anything and see my feet).

I would cheerfully wear any of these. The one on the left would fulfill my personal little RED dress requirement - while most women have little black dresses, I always require one little red dress in my wardrobe. The cleavage cut is flattering, and I like that it comes down a little bit over the arms, which gracefully covers what I consider one of my worst features.

The Fashion Overdose dress in the center is slightly punk, very flirty, and would work well with black ribbed tights and would work well with ballet flats, booties, or combat boots. Given the right circumstance, I could see myself wearing any of the above. It’s one of those fun, unapologetic-for-who-I-am looks that FO serves up as a specialty. I’m also drawn to the dress on the far right because the paisley brings me back to my college hippy phase, but with some nicer detailing and a flattering cut to the print.

I’m off to hunt for more favorites, so we can all shop and drool.

    The red, definitely the red!

The red is gorgeous! However my personal favorite is the black and pink dress, it’s exactly my colors and style. Nice finds! :)
